French President Threatens to Outlaw Protests Against Labor Reforms

As France hosts the Euro 2016 football tournament, the streets of many of the country’s cities continue to broil with protests against the government’s deeply unpopular labor reforms, which were crowbarred into law last month without a vote in parliament. In the following Real News Network interview Le Monde Diplomatique’s Renaud Lambert says the government has threatened to outlaw political protest, even going so far as to compare some of the trade unions to terrorist organizations like ISIS.
